  Fall 2020 Spring 2021
 Soccer Families,
Welcome back to our 41st year of providing a recreational soccer program to the
downriver community. Whether you are joining us for the first time or are returning for
another season, we look forward to providing you with a quality program. Adding to the
excitement this year is the introduction of the USSF, (United States Soccer Federation),
Player Development Initiatives, called PDI's.
Our program is based on these principles:
                            AYSO VISION STATEMENT
To provide world class soccer programs that enrich children’s lives.
To develop and deliver quality soccer programs which promote a fun, family
environment based on AYSO’s six basic philosophies
                       AYSO’s six basic philosophies.
everyone plays          good sportsmanship         open registration
balanced teams         positive coaching               player development
To register a player you will need to go to our website:
and register on-line. The fee for the FULL YEAR of soccer, consisting of the Fall 2018and the
Spring 2019  is $125.00.  The fee is broken down to $107.50 for soccer and a $17.50 one time
non-refundable National Membership Fee to AYSO. You will receive:
●  complete uniform (jersey, shorts, socks, away shirt)
●  8 games in the Fall 2018, 8 games in the Spring 2019, 3-4 games in our Annual Tournament
●  Secondary Soccer Insurance
●  in addition to your team practices, free supplementary training is offered
●  Trained Coaches
●  Certified Referees
Our games are played at our AYSO Memorial Field in Wyandotte, on Pennsylvania between Fort
and Jefferson. Games will be scheduled primarily on Saturdays and a couple of weekdays in our 6 week season.
Weekday games usually begint at 6pm and Saturday mornings at 9:30. Our Schooyard and
Playground programs will be played on Fridays at 6pm or Saturday mornings at 11:00.
These two programs are for these age groups;
Playground: under age of 4
Schoolyard;  under the age of 5
Practices are determined by the Coach, and our practice fields are mostly in Trenton. We
recommend at least 2 visits per week, in any combination of games and practices.
Requesting a Coach in the past has not been available, as we strove to create balanced
teams. We are introducing that this year due to our updated balancing system, and are
allowing parents to request a particular Coach.
The Spring season begins with practicing in April followed by the games in May and
June and Tournament in  June.
Our program then ends with a League Party where participant medals are
handed out.
The following steps should help guide you through the process.
Step One: Create a Login Account
Much like Amazon and other online purchasing programs, the first step would be for a
child's parent/guardian to create a SportConnect Account by clicking the "Register Now" button
at the top of the screen on the above link. This will create a Login Account for parents to use again
to register their child/children year after year for all AYSO Soccer programs.
*Please note that for those that wish to add a Secondary User (for example, a second parent) to
the account now would be an ideal time to do so.
Tip: Remember which email you used to create this account if you are like me and always forget
your passwords.
Step Two: Create a profile for each "Participant."
This is information needed for EACH soccer player you'd like to eventually register.
Tip: Only items marked with an asterisk are mandatory.
Most likely, all of this information should only need to be entered one time for each player.
Step Three: Select a "Program Available" for each Participant.
Tip: All youth soccer programs in the United States are now converted over to a "calendar birth
year" registration process. That means if your child was born in 2006, for the Fall17/Spring18
season, they would play in a 12U age division. A child born in 2004 would play in a 14U division. A
child born in 2005 would be in a 13U division, but since there is not a 13U division, they would be
placed in a 14U division.
The Blue Sombrero registration system should automatically show what programs are available
for each child, "participant",  based on their date of birth.
Step Four: Volunteer!
You may also at any time choose to volunteer for any of many available positions in our Region
(again) by entering your information on SportConnect to get the background check done and
automatically notify our Regional Commissioner, John Reeber. The $25 dollar fee is paid by the Region.
Step Five: Payment
Payment is now done online using a credit card.
Step Six: Check your email (including Spam Filters!) for confirmation letters and receipts and
information on the next steps.
Congratulation -- your child should now be registered!
More questions that might need answering can be found in the SportConnect Registration FAQ: website
